Also known as the "Mexican Galapagos", the Socorro Islands are a hotbed of marine life. Spend quality time with playful dolphins and entire dives with massive oceanic mantas flying overhead. Swim with hundreds of Galapagos sharks, silky sharks, silvertip sharks, hammerhead sharks and stacks of white tip reef sharks. Read the trip recap from our 2016 trip here.
Price $2,850 for a 9 night liveaboard aboard the Quino el Guardian in quad cabins and shared bathrooms. All diving and meals aboard the vessel including free local beer and wine.
Payments Deposit: $1,200 per diver Balance due September 1, 2017
Itinerary Friday - Fly into Cabo San Lucas and take a taxi to Cabo to board the boat. Boarding between 5-7pm. Saturday - All day motor to Socorro islands Sunday to Friday - Up to 4 dives per day Saturday - All day motor back to Cabo Sunday - Arrive back in Cabo by 8:30am and fly home
Diving Conditions The water temperatures range from 75 to 82 degrees this time of the year. A minimum 3mm full wetsuit is recommended. Need a dive computer? Ask us about special deals if you sign up for the trip.
Prerequesites Advanced Open Water certification with 30 logged dives and ownership of a dive computer. We look at your overall dive experience so ask us if you are Open Water certified but have the necessary diving experience. Not yet advanced certified? Ask us about getting certified before or during the trip.
Getting There, Passports & Visa Documentation Fly from LAX to SJD. Flight time is only about 2.5 hours. Taxi over to the boat is about 30 minutes. It is the divers’ responsibility to ensure they have the proper documentation to travel to Mexico on this itinerary as well as for re-entry and return back to Los Angeles.
