Already completed your first weekend of scuba certification training and earned your Scuba Diver certification? This course is designed to complete the remaining training required to upgrade you to a full Open Water Diver certification.
This is not a beginner scuba course and is only for students who have already completed the first portion of their certification, including the required academics, confined-water training, and initial open-water dives.
Scuba Diver vs. Open Water Diver
The Scuba Diver certification is a limited certification intended for divers who plan to dive under the direct supervision of a dive professional.
By completing this upgrade course, you will finish the remaining skills and open-water training required to earn the full Open Water Diver certification.
With a full Open Water certification, you gain significantly more independence and are qualified to dive with a certified buddy within the limits of your training without requiring direct professional supervision.
What This Course Includes
This one-weekend upgrade completes the second half of the Open Water Diver training program.
Students will complete the remaining required training and open-water dives with an Eco Dive Center instructor.
Depending on your original training record and certification agency, your instructor will verify which modules and dives have already been completed before beginning the upgrade.
Who This Course Is For
This course is specifically for divers who:
- Have already completed the first weekend or first portion of an Open Water certification course
- Currently hold a Scuba Diver-level certification or equivalent partial certification
- Want to continue their training and earn a full Open Water Diver certification
- Can provide documentation or training records showing the portions of the course already completed
Important
This course does not include the complete beginner Open Water Diver program.
If you have never completed scuba certification training before, you should register for our full Open Water Diver Certification Course instead.
Once the remaining training requirements are successfully completed, you will receive your full Open Water Diver certification and can begin diving more independently with a certified buddy.
